Mortgage rates holding steady
Mortgage rates show no signs of moving noticeably higher, with long-term rates falling slightly this week.
Freddie Mac (OTC BB FMCC) says a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.38 percent in the week ending Jan. 17, down from 3.40 percent last week. A 15-year fix averaged 2.66 percent, unchanged from last week.
A one-year adjustable-rate mortgage averaged 2.57 percent this week, down from 2.60 percent.
