Mercier's Inc. plans to lay off 75 workers
Mercier’s Inc. of Harmons plans to layoff 75 workers due to a contract not being renewed, the company said in a filing Tuesday with the state’s labor department.
The job cuts at the maintenance, utility contracting and excavation will begin on or around Dec. 31, the filing with the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation said.
Mercier’s expects many of the impacted employees will be employed by the company that was awarded the new contract, the filing said. It’s unclear who…
