Md. running out of transportation funds, state budget analyst warns

Maryland's top budget analyst told lawmakers Tuesday the state has no money to fund new transportation projects and in five years won't have enough to maintain its roads and transit, the Washington Examiner reported.

Warren Deschenaux, director of the Office of Policy Analysis of the state Department of Legislative Services, told an Annapolis budget committee the "outlook and the situation" for the state's transportation trust fund "are quite grave."
