Maryland's combined sales tax rate 37th in U.S.
Maryland’s overall sales tax rate is among the lowest in the U.S., according to a new report from the Tax Foundation.
The state’s combined local and state tax rate is 6 percent — made up entirely of the Maryland sales tax. Maryland is one of 13 states that does not collect a local sales tax.
The combinied rate ranks Maryland No. 37 among all states. Its state sales tax of 6 percent ranks 16th in the U.S.
