Maryland unveils new breast-feeding policies for hospitals
Maryland’s Department of Health and Metal Hygiene on Tuesday released a 10-point list of breast-feeding policies the department wants hospitals to adopt in an effort to increase breast-feeding rates in the state.
The new policy recommendations are intended to promote breast-feeding by ensuring hospitals have robust support services to help new mothers succeed at breast-feeding at the hospital and at home, rather than using formula. Hospitals are being asked to evaluate their current programs and…
