Maryland transportation funding to fall short, state analyst says

Maryland won’t have enough money to pay for new transportation projects in coming years, including the Red Line transit extension in Baltimore, a state analyst told lawmakers in Annapolis on Tuesday.

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s capital fund will bring in about $2 billion less than forecast over the next six years, Jonathan Martin, a senior policy analyst with the Department of Legislative Services, told members of the House Appropriations committee.
