Maryland state-run bank bill takes step forward
A controversial bill that could pave the way for Maryland becoming the second state in the nation with a government-run bank advanced this week in the General Assembly.
House Bill 1306 was scheduled for a hearing on March 12 before the House Economic Matters committee. The move comes after the bill was reassigned to House Economic Matters from the House Appropriations committee, to which the bill was originally assigned.
