Maryland recovers $1 million in illegal fees for renters

The Maryland Attorney General's Office on Consumer Affairs has recovered nearly $1 million in illegally charged holding fees for renters, WTOP reports. The fees are collected by unscrupulous landlords in Montgomery County who tell potential renters they must pay them to secure a place top rent.
