Maryland Daily Record names Simon editor

David B. Simon plans to emphasize online content in his new role as the editor of the Maryland Daily Record.

Simon, 36, later this month will replace Tom Linthicum as editor of the business and legal paper. Linthicum served as editor for six years before retiring in December. In his new role at the Daily Record, the former managing editor of the Montgomery Gazette will seek to marry its print product with an expanding online presence.
