Maryland arts industry pumps $1B into state economy
Maryland’s arts industry generated $1 billion for the state’s economy in fiscal 2011, a new report released Wednesday showed.
The study from the Maryland State Arts Council said the industry generates 11,434 full-time equivalent jobs, worth $399 million in salaries
The arts industry generated $37.8 million in tax revenue during fiscal 2011, according to the report.
