Martick's Restaurant Francais to reopen in February
Martick's Restaurant Francais, which closed in 2006, will reopen by early February as a speakeasy, the Baltimore Sun reported.
The restaurant's owner, Morris Martick, died last December. The new establishment's operators will be his surviving brother, Alex Martick, a Baltimore attorney; his nephew, Steve Shockett; and Brooks Bennett.
The restaurant originally was a grocery store run by Martick's parents and then a speakeasy during Prohibition. It was a jazz club during the 1950s and early 60s.
