LivingSocial confirms layoffs; about 160 in D.C. to lose jobs
LivingSocial Inc. confirmed on Thursday it is laying off some 400 of its staff, including roughly 160 in Washington, D.C..
All but a few dozen of the cuts are in the U.S., according to spokesman Andrew Weinstein, who did not specify which international markets would see reductions. Sales is the largest group affected nationally, while in D.C., customer service is taking the biggest hit. Many of those jobs, he said, will be shifted to the company’s new call center in Tucson, Ariz.
