Legg Mason is expected to announce a new CEO this week, and the announcement could come as early as Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

The newspaper cited unnamed sources with knowledge about the company’s search for a permanent successor to Mark R. Fetting.

The Baltimore-based money management company (NYSE: LM) could announce a management reorganization with Joseph Sullivan, the interim CEO, taking a different role with the company, an unnamed source told the Journal.
