Judge rejects challenge to passage of gambling expansion
An Anne Arundel County Circuit Court judge Tuesday rejected a lawsuit seeking to overturn gambling expansion in Maryland, WBFF Fox45-TV and the Associated Press reported.
Judge Ronald A. Silkworth ruled in favor of the Maryland State Board of Elections and other defendants in the case, declaring that the board was correct in deciding that "a majority of qualified voters" in the state is defined as a majority of those who actually voted, not all those who are registered to vote, as alleged by plaintiffs.
