John Boehner won reelection as speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday and signaled he plans to reduce the federal government's $16.4 trillion debt, the Business Journals reported.

The Ohio lawmaker won a second two-year term as House leader with 220 votes, losing just a handful of votes in the Republican-controlled chamber. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., received 192 votes.
