Insurers join hospitals in criticizing state over waiver talks

The health care industry’s frustration with the state’s talks over a new Medicare waiver plan became more evident Tuesday at a state House of Delegates committee meeting.

Insurance carriers and hospital leaders criticized state health administrators for bringing forward a plan to revise the state’s outdated Medicare waiver that lacks details as to how hospitals will accomplish the plan’s goals of lowering costs and hospital admissions and improving quality.
