Independently operated city schools sound off on contracts

City school board hears from schools recommended for nonrenewal, others that want longer extensions

In a public forum packed with emotion as well as people, the Baltimore City school board heard Wednesday from independently operated schools fighting for contract extensions as some presented their own narratives about their strengths and weaknesses.
