Home prices show best annual gains in six years

A new report on housing prices shows the biggest annual gains nationally since May 2006.

Irvine, Calif.-based real estate data firm CoreLogic says nationwide, home prices in December, including distressed sales, were up 8.3 percent. It is the 10th consecutive monthly increase in home prices nationally.

Home prices rose 0.4 percent from November to December.

All but four states saw year-over-year price gains.
