East Baltimore residents sound off against Patterson Park parking plan

Hundreds of East Baltimore residents protested a plan to add parking spaces to a Patterson Park access road, the Baltimore Sun reported. At times, the crowd shouted down city officials trying to explain the plan during an informational meeting Monday.

The plan is based in part on the city health department's desire to transfer activities at the John Booth Senior Center in Highlandtown to the park's Casino building. More than 5,200 people have signed a petition against the plan on the website Change.org,…
