D.C. United CEO Kevin Payne steps down
Longtime D.C. United President and CEO Kevin Payne announced his resignation Tuesday without saying why he was stepping down or where he was headed.
Payne, who has been the soccer team's lead executive since its inception in 1996, promised more information in the coming weeks in a team issued statement. The Washington Post, citing unidentified sources, reported that he will join another Major League Soccer club.
