Cordish breaks ground on St. Louis Ballpark Village project

After years of delays, work on Ballpark Village in St. Louis is under way.

Members from the St. Louis Cardinals organization, developers from Cordish Cos. and St. Louis officials on Friday scooped up piles of dirt on the site of the soon-to-be $100 million first phase of Ballpark Village.

The Cardinals and development partner Baltimore-based Cordish Cos. secured financing for construction of the first phase, the Cardinals announced Jan. 30.
