Columbia resident appointed head of National Weather Service
Columbia resident Louis W. Uccellini has been appointed the 16th director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service, the Baltimore Sun reported Thursday.
Uccellini will become director Sunday, when he will also assume the post of assistant NOAA administrator for weather services.
