Clarence M. Mitchell III, former Md. state senator, dies
Former Maryland Sen. Clarence M. Mitchell III died Wednesday night, according to family members. He was 72.
Mitchell served in the Maryland Senate from 1967 to 1986. Before that, he was a member of the House of Delegates from 1963 to 1967.
Mitchell’s nephew and state Del. Keiffer Mitchell posted on Twitter Thursday morning, “Last night, my uncle Clarence Mitchell III passed. While I’m saddened, he was relieved of a lot of pain and he is in a much better place.”
