City takes steps to replace South Baltimore bridges

The city has started the process to replace two well-traveled, deteriorating vehicle bridges in South Baltimore.

The Department of Transportation has submitted a request to the city’s spending board to pay $1.9 million for design plans to replace bridges near M&T Bank Stadium. The two bridges are located on Russell and Monroe streets. The projects will be paid for from federal aid designated for improving bridges in Baltimore.
