City school police protest denial of disability benefits

Baltimore City school police are seeking increased benefits for injuries received in the line of duty, the Baltimore Sun reported.

The officers are classified by the city pension system as civilians rather than as sworn police officers, thereby causing them to be denied disability benefits. The city school police is the only force in the state solely designated to protecting a public school system.
