Christmas Eve Schedule Changes, Baltimore's Proposed Juvenile Detention Center, and The Ravens Win The AFC North Title For The Second Straight Year

Lots of schedule changes to report on this Christmas Eve. The Baltimore Sun has a detailed rundown here; an overview is as follows:

Public schools are closed today. State government offices are closed, for a service reduction day. And local government offices are closed in most jurisdictions -- but they're open here in Baltimore City as well as in Anne Arundel County and Baltimore County (government offices are closed in Carroll, Harford, Howard, and Frederick Counties).

Courts are closed, and so are MOST public libraries; an exception is here in Charm City, where the Enoch Pratt Free Library's branches WILL be open, but will close a little early, at 5 o'clock tonight.

There are no Camden Line MARC trains today -- and while MARC trains are running on the Penn and Brunswick Lines, they're on an "S" schedule; that is, only trains with an “S” under their train number in the timetables will operate. The MTA reminds you that Camden Line tickets are always honored on the Penn Line. There's also a special schedule in effect for MTA commuter buses today. The MTA has more on holiday schedules here and here

On today's edition of Inside Maryland Politics, WYPR Senior News Analyst Fraser Smith talks with Alexis Taylor of the Afro about the movement to stop the proposed juvenile detention facility in downtown Baltimore.

And in sports: the Ravens took down the New York Giants 33 to 14 yesterday. The win gives Baltimore the AFC North Title for the second year in a row. The Ravens play their regular-season finale against the Bengals in Cincinnati this coming Sunday.
