Chesapeake Bay health improves in 2012

The Chesapeake Bay’s health improved in 2012, but much work is still needed to boost the country’s largest estuary, a report released Wednesday shows.

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s report says the health of the bay improved one point from the last report in 2010 and four points since 2008. The score of 32 is a 10 percent improvement over the past five years. The score, however, remains far short of a goal of 70.
