Charles Street water main break impacts businesses
A 60-inch water main at Charles and 20th streets near Penn Station broke at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, flooding sidewalks along the busy corridor and blocking customers from its businesses.
The Bohemian Coffee House at 1821 N. Charles St. was forced to close shortly after it opened at 7 a.m., manager Jazmin Simmons said.
“It was so bad that this car out front — it was actually coming up on the hood,” Simmons said. “We may reopen later but until this area is safe, we’re closed for now.”
