Buddy Miller's Majestic Silver Strings On World Cafe
Tue, 24 May 2011 14:00:00 -0400
When you're one of the best guitarists in Nashville, you've achieved something of a legendary status in the music world — and that's exactly what Buddy Miller has done. The singer-songwriter has produced, written, recorded and played so much great music, Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris call him one of the greatest musicians alive.
Miller's recent album, The Majestic Silver Strings, feels like a country music revue. The 13-track collection is replete with big-name contributors from a wide range of genres and styles: Emmylou Harris,Lee Ann Womack, Shawn Colvin, Julie Miller — all backed by the guitar work of Miller, Bill Frisell, Marc Ribot and Greg Leisz.
Hear an interview with all four guitarists and cuts from the group's only live performance thus far, recorded live at Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
