Baltimore City liquor license fees would rise under proposed bill

A proposed bill in the General Assembly would increase annual fees on Baltimore City liquor license holders, aimed at bringing in more revenue for the city’s liquor board.

The Baltimore City Alcoholic Beverages Act of 2013, sponsored by Sen. Nathaniel J. McFadden, was introduced on Jan. 23 and is going through its first reading in the senate’s Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee.

Depending on the type of license, annual fees would rise from between $16.50 to $2,400.
