Assaults on staff are focus of scathing report at Spring Grove

Patient assaults on hospital staff are common at Spring Grove Hospital Center in Catonsville, according to a scathing new report from a consultant for the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Baltimore Sun reported.

That consultant found that the chaos at Spring Grove, the state's largest psychiatric hospital, is fueled by a few patients who "prey upon patients and staff with relative impunity."
