Apps industry expected to rise 62% to $25B in 2013
Global revenue from app stores, such as those run by Apple and Google Inc., is expected to rise 62 percent to $25 billion this year, according to Gartner Inc., the information technology research and advisory firm, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
In the first of a five-part series on the Business of Apps, the Journal says developers are still trying to figure out the best business models.
