The Approaching Deadline For Requesting An Absentee Ballot, and An Age Discrimination Ruling Against The Baltimore County Pension System

The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot for the November 6th election is a week from today -- Tuesday, November 30th (via the Gazette). Absentee ballot applications must be submitted by mail or fax or in person to your county board of elections; you can apply for an absentee ballot with this form from the State Board of Elections.


A federal judge has ruled that the Baltimore County pension system violates the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. The county is reviewing the opinion and is not yet saying whether they will appeal (via our wire service and the Baltimore Sun).

A new poll is giving Democrat Ben Cardin a sizeable lead in his bid for re-election in Maryland's U.S. Senate race. The "Washington Post" survey shows that among likely voters, Cardin is ahead of Republican Dan Bongino; the Democrat has support of 53 percent of those surveyed; Bongino has 22 percent (via our wire service).
