Appeals court rules O'Malley can replace P.G. Delegate Alston
Maryland’s highest court confirmed that ousted state delegate Tiffany Alston will not get her position back and gave Gov. Martin O’Malley broad power to fill the vacancy, the Washington Post reported.
In a one-paragraph order, the appeals court affirmed an earlier ruling by a Prince George's County Circuit judge that gave the governor power to choose who represents the state's 24th Legislative District in the General Assembly.
