Aldi opens supermarket in Towson; fifth Baltimore Co. location

The fast-growing Aldi supermarket chain opened its fifth store in Baltimore County with a preview event Thursday in Towson, the Baltimore Sun reported. Official opening is 9 a.m. Friday.

Aldi has stores in Dundalk, Randallstown, Essex and Middle River, plus three supermarkets in Baltimore City. The chain opened 75 stores in the U.S. in 2011 and was slated to open 80 more in 2012.
