Air pollution in mid-Atlantic down in 2011

Air pollution in the Mid-Atlantic decreased during 2011, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Environmental Protection Agency and reported by the Washington Examiner.

Releases of toxic air pollutants were down 13.8 percent compared to 2010 in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia, the EPA said.
