In her senior year of high school, Dolly Parton told the graduating class that she planned to go to Nashville to be a star.

The whole class burst into laughter.

In her book Dream More: Celebrate the Dreamer in You, Parton explains how she went on to prove her class wrong and become one of the best-selling recording artists of all time.

She talks with NPR's Neal Conan about her journey from rags to riches and the principles behind her enormous success as a musician, actor and theme park entrepreneur.
