26 city schools to close by 2022
Baltimore will close 26 schools and upgrade 136 others over the next decade, the city's school system announced Tuesday, as reported by the Baltimore Sun. Included is Northwestern High School, whose closure alumni and others vowed to fight.
Of the 26 buildings, four are recommended for closure at the end of the current school year: Baltimore Rising Star Academy, Garrison Middle, Patapsco Elementary/Middle and William C. March Middle.
