10-year-old struck in New Year's celebratory shooting dies
Girl had been in critical condition in Delaware after Cecil County incident
After two days on life support, Aaliyah Boyer was pronounced dead Thursday at a Delaware hospital. The 10-year-old (inset) was struck in the head by a falling bullet someone apparently fired into the air while celebrating the New Year. The Cecil County death prompted Aaliyah's family, including her mother Crystal Blackburn (pictured) to urge people to consider the consequences of firing into the air.
