CPB Compliance Statement
Your Public Radio Corporation is the licensee of Radio stations WYPR and WYPR-HD1 Baltimore, Maryland, WYPF-FM Frederick, Maryland, and WYPO-FM Ocean City, Maryland. WYPR shall comply with Section 396 (k) (4) of the Communications Act by adopting the policy, pursuant to the Public Broadcasting Service, of providing notice to the public before holding public meetings of the Board of Directors, the Board committees, and the Community Advisory Board. Notice of these public meetings shall be posted on the website of WYPR ( http://www.wypr.org/) in a reasonable time in advance of the meetings, but not less than one week in advance. Subject to reasonable limitations depending on the size of available meeting space, all members of the public shall be permitted to attend any of these meetings without condition such as registration or providing any personal information.
All or portions of any board or committee meeting may be "CLOSED" to the public in the event matters relating to individual employees, proprietary information, litigation or other matters which are confidential upon advice of counsel or financial information obtained on a confidential basis, or other matters deemed by the board to be inappropriate for public disclosure. If a meeting is closed, an explanation will be posted at http://www.wypr.org/. This announcement will be aired on three consecutive dates each calendar quarter for the information of our listeners.
As further compliance, WYPR shall post in its public file the Annual Financial Report (AFR), donor names, financial information (form 990), and S.A.B.S ( Station Activity Benchmarking Survey) report. Also, the FCC EEO Public File Report shall comply with the FCC's EEO rule and shall be posted on the website with a copy placed in the Public Inspection File of the station. It is the policy of WYPR to comply with all FCC and CPB EEO requirements.
Audit Information
Recently the Office of Inspector General on behalf of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting conducted an audit of WYPR's compliance with the Public Broadcasting Act of 1967. The report noted some areas of non-compliance, which the station has rectified. Critics of the station have offered their own interpretation of the report.
