Caroline Queen grew up paddling the streams of Montgomery County. Now she's taken her oar to London as a member of the U.S. Olympic kayaking team. We ask her how she's assessing the course ahead.

Kayaker Caroline Queen grew up paddling the streams of Montgomery County.  She first picked up an oar at Valley Mill Camp in Darnestown at age 9, and hasn’t put it down in the 11 years since. Now, at 20, she’s the sole American woman representing the US at the London Games as a slalom kayaker.

The Man Who Sold Baseball to Baltimore: Friday June 6, 12-1 pm

Maryland-based author Paul Dickson chronicles the life of one of baseball's most colorful characters and legends, the showman, promoter and multi-team owner, Bill Veeck. It was Veeck who, after failing to make the St. Louis Browns a success and force the Cardinals out of that town, sold the franchise to a Baltimore group that brought Major League Baseball to Charm City in 1954. But that's just a small part of the Veeck story. Paul Dickson is the author of " Bill Veeck: Baseball's Greatest Maverick."
