Jackie Robinson: Tuesday April 23, 1-2 p.m.

On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson made his debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers, breaking Major League Baseball’s color barrier. We discuss Robinson’s legacy with Darryl Pryor, co-producer of 42, and Andre Holland, who portrays legendary sports writer Wendell Smith in the new biopic. Also joining us: Moses Newson, veteran journalist and biographer of Baltimore sportswriter Sam Lacy, who crusaded for baseball’s integration.



Gun control, CPR v. 3.0, O's opening day, a review of "God of Carnage" at Everyman

This morning the House of Delegates begins debating Governor O'Malley's gun control bill.  As it stands, the measure would ban assault-style weapons and strengthen the requirements to buy a handgun in Maryland.  We talk with two of the delegates involved in the debate:  Luiz Simmons, Democrat of central Montgomery County, and Mike Smigiel, Republican of the Upper Shore.



Ravens Win The Super Bowl: Monday February 4, 1-2 p.m.

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers last night to win this year's Super Bowl following an adrenaline fueled game that included a major power outage, and stellar performances by Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco and the team's wide receiver Jacoby Jones. This hour, we give listeners the chance to weigh in on this historic victory.

The Baltimore Ravens eked out a victory over the San Francisco 49ers to become Super Bowl champs last night. The Ravens surged ahead early, but after a 34 minute halt in play due to a power outage, the 49ers roared back to get within three. But, the Ravens' defense held on a crucial fourth and goal play with less than two minutes to play.
