Meningitis Outbreak: Monday October 15, 12-1 p.m.

The meningitis outbreak has turned into a major health scandal. A company based in Massachusetts shipped vials of steroids that may have been contaminated to doctors and medical facilities in 23 states, including Maryland. Health officials say 14,000 people were injected with the suspected steroid between May and September. About 1,500 of those patients were in Maryland. So far, more than 200 people in 14 states have been sickened,  and 15 have died, one of them in Maryland.
