The Baltimore Sun has called WYPR's Gilbert Sandler “our great rememberer.”   He tells us a Baltimore Story every Friday here on WYPR, and now he’s got a new book.  It’s his fifth:  a collection of some of the columns he wrote in the Baltimore Jewish Times that chronicles Jewish history in Baltimore.  It’s called

Caroline Queen grew up paddling the streams of Montgomery County. Now she's taken her oar to London as a member of the U.S. Olympic kayaking team. We ask her how she's assessing the course ahead.

Kayaker Caroline Queen grew up paddling the streams of Montgomery County.  She first picked up an oar at Valley Mill Camp in Darnestown at age 9, and hasn’t put it down in the 11 years since. Now, at 20, she’s the sole American woman representing the US at the London Games as a slalom kayaker.
