E-Rewards FAQ's

Q:  What is WYPR E-Rewards?

A:  WYPR E-Rewards is this station's new member benefits program.  As a member at the $65 level or above, you are entitled to use this internet portal to find coupons, discounts and great deals at both local and national stores and restaurants.

Q:  Why is WYPR switching to a new member benefits program?

A:  WYPR constantly strives to not only provide the best membership experience possible, but also to control costs and protect the environment.  We feel that moving to a virtual benefits program will help the station accomplish all three goals.

Membership Experience: With our previous benefits program, members were limited to using the WYPR MemberCard at restaurants, bed & breakfasts and cultural attractions.  With the new WYPR E-Rewards program, members now have access to discounts and deals you can use every day at retailers, restaurants, hotels, cruises, online shopping websites and many more.

Controlling Costs:
Members often express worry that the station spends too much money on the membership experience.  Often members will make a pledge and choose no thank you gift or benefit because of the cost to the station.  With a virtual member benefits program, the station pays nothing in material costs.  There are no physical cards to be purchased.  This saves the station thousands of dollars a year.  With no physical cards to mail, the station saves 17 cents per thank you letter/tax receipt we send.  Those cents really add up to savings that can now be funneled into other projects, such as new programming and equipment.

Protecting the Environment: The new WYPR E-Rewards program is part of the station's Green Initiative.  With the new WYPR E-Rewards program there is no physical card to produce.  When your account expires there is nothing to throw away.  When you renew your membership with WYPR and thus reactivate your account on the WYPR E-Rewards portal, the station does not have to purchase and provide a new card.  WYPR saves on production and product costs and reduces the amount of recyclable plastic that ends up in landfills.  This virtual benefits program helps WYPR protect the environment.

Q:  I still have a WYPR MemberCard that does not expire for many months.  Does the new program render my WYPR MemberCard null and void?

A:  No.
If you have a WYPR MemberCard that still has a valid date, it will continue to be honored at all participating restaurants, bed & breakfasts and cultural attractions.  You can continue to use the MemberCard until it expires.

Q:  I still have a valid WYPR MemberCard, but I would like to participate in the new WYPR E-Rewards program.  Am I eligible?  Who should I talk to?

A:  All current, active members at the $65 level and above are eligible to participate in the new benefits program, regardless of whether or not you already have a WYPR MemberCard.  To participate and receive your activation pin number, call Kristin L. Beno, Membership Director, at 410-235-1855 or email
Kristin Beno.  A pin number will be sent to your email address or given to you over the phone.  From there you log onto the WYPR E-Rewards portal and register your new account using that pin.  You are then enrolled in the WYPR E-Rewards program.

Q:  I have a question or comment that this Q & A did not cover.  Who should I talk to?

A:
Feel free to call Kristin L. Beno, Membership Director, at 410-235-1855 or email Kristin Beno with any comments, questions or concerns.
