| Letter From the President |

Dear WYPR Listeners;
WYPR's fiscal year came to an end on June 30th, and from all respects this was a wonderful year for the station. Perhaps our best achievement was the continuation of our production of the highest level of programming in the face of the worst recession since the great depression.
Yet, in the face of this economy, WYPR's Fraser Smith, Sheilah Kast, Dan Rodricks, Tom Hall, Mary Rose Madden, Stephanie Marudus, Donna Marie Owens, and Joel McCord won Society of Professional Journalism awards. And, one of this year's PRNDI Awards was won by Fraser Smith, Sunni Khalid, and Mary Rose Madden for their insightful series "Growing Up Baltimore".
Your support was there when we needed it. Your contributions enabled us to produce the programs that you love to hear every day. Membership giving to WYPR actually increased this year over the previous year. We are all very grateful for your generous support and sincerely thank you.
According to the May Arbitron, the radio industry rating service, WYPR is now reaching almost 240,000 people per week, the highest level of listenership ever for the station. Among listeners with college degrees, WYPR is Baltimore's most listened to radio station during many parts of the day.
We hope you have a wonderful summer. Remember, the schedule for PNC Concerts in Patterson Park produced by WYPR and the Friends of Patterson Park. You can find a full list of WYPR events here. If you are going to the Ocean City area to enjoy the beaches, you can listen to WYPR on 106.9FM. And, we hope you will continue to support WYPR throughout the summer as WYPR's expenses continue even when you are on vacation.
Thank you.
