HD Radio technology is new. It allows digital information to be broadcast along the same channels as AM/FM radio. This new equipment is the latest technology, which provides HD multi-channel, digital broadcasting. This means that WYPR will be able to broadcast as many as four audio streams in high definition audio. You will need a new HD radio to hear these audio streams and they are available now from many electronics stores. WYPR Programming What formats will be heard on these additional audio channels? The first channel is available now and offers a high definition digital version of WYPR's current programming. The second channel will also be available in early 2008 and will feature a twenty-four hour news and information feed.
